Sounded like he was talking to a bunch of 4 yr. olds.
That's the way it is now. Even the literature is the same.
what part of the hall was your favorite part to clean?
was it the bathrooms, the main hall, library or lunch room perhaps...did people use cleaning the hall as an excuse to get self-righteous?
let me know.... lol.

i'm new here...this is my first post.
last month i disassociated myself from the wts.
one of the student workers at the community college where i work is a seriously unquestioning jw; a sweet woman but totally brainwashed.. knowing she would find out soon, i took her aside and told her of my decision.
Nina (Can anybody tell me how to add in the little "TM" (trademark) symbol?)
Please NOOOO!!
LOL I hate that. It is the same when someone makes quotation marks with hand gestures - LAME
My friends hate LOL, so I guess I am just as bad...
i worry about you boys down under.......
Are you suggesting the cyclone is destroying JW evidence of scandalous behaviour or something? No?
THEN WHY IS THIS THREAD IN THIS SECTION??????
here's the list of public talks i've gleaned from google.
there are gaps.
can you help me with the blanks, their number and their name?
Thanks for uploading all the outlines - I pulled them all via ftp. Great work!
i had a sister call on me the other day and asked if i wanted to attend the book study with her.
i asked her how the governing body knew which topics to post in the magazines and what subjects the elders need to talk about for public talks.
she never answered my question, but assured me it was covered in the chapter they were studying in the daniel book.
Consequently only the GB can be blamed for all that is wrong in this org.
I agree. There is a lot of power abuse at congregation level too, but that is also their responsiblity for setting up the Org. in the way they have and by not ensuring the 'elders' are truly qualified, and remain so.
(my apologies if this already got posted by our very own danny hazard.

The WT don't need any more reason than the material posted is copyright.
Any site in the US, or in countries that are signatories of international copyright law, is subject to closure. The answer is simple though. Have your site hosted in a country that is unfavourable to the WT or has no interest in copyright violations. reexamine.org is such a site, doing a great job.

They get reports from the CO's, DO's and the Branches. These reports highlight trends that might need some commenting on. They also rely on regular subject repetition. Every 3 months or so, expect a study article about how the faithful slave is wonderful and must be obeyed. Other subjects are revisited in the same way.
What the GB does not do is ask the 'anointed ones', the actual FDS by their own interpretation. This is something the general JW does not realise. They hear the FDS is feeding them, even hear references at every meeting thanking them, but have no idea how to explain why the FDS is not actually involved at all. Virtually all that is published today is written by the Writing Committee, made up of non 'anointed' ones who present it to the GB for approval.
i felt bad for the newbie that came here for some advise and her thread got locked due to the immaturity of a few folks.. i know she could restart her own thread, but being new she might be reluctant to get involved with us again after that sorry display of manners before.
i hope i'm not out of line, but i'll start a new thread for her.
below is her original post.
His family has completly refused to accept me or my newborn.
Yes I agree, don't openly criticise the Org., it will not help. Your comment, quoted above, is sad. Clearly they blame you for their son's situation. Try to get him to see how their attitude is unchristian, even against the JW style - where they would usually try to get you to study too. You are not married yet, and they may be still hoping to break up the relationship before you marry.
He may be considering returning just to restore his family and friends. If that is why it's not likely to hurt you too much.
If, however, he wants to return because he still believes it is the 'truth' and has 'repented' then you have a difficult situation. It could tear you both apart. How much effect this would have depends on how much you love each other, how much YOU are willing to compromise (since the religion will not let him) and how much pressure comes from family and his congregation. It will definitely be difficult.

GOF for sure.
Actually, the attitude displayed was not unlike many power-mad, unloving, Elders inside the Org. that Farkel crticises.
I remember one 'local needs' talk about the length of time the congregation should applause when a 'brother' finished his talk. The body of Elders wanted the clapping to continue until the speaker was well off the platform. It was pathetic that the local elders should consider this to be the topic worthy of a talk to the congregation when there were much more presing needs at the time. Similarly, the person who initiated the thread was asking for help regarding their partner, not a lesson in grammer.
Fakel needs to learn some humility.

I read Farkel's comments regarding incorrect grammer and the subsequent rants.
Farkel's posts were rude and pedantic to an extreme.
Farkel also made numerous grammatical mistakes. I am sure readers appreciated the irony.
I noticed the administrator eventually closed the thread. I hope a warning was also sent to Farkel to behave or risk suspension. (But disfellowshipping is not necessary, ha ha)
The posts were made in the 'Friends' section, but there was not much friendliness demonstrated. This is a forum about Jehovah's Witnesses and its organization, not a language school. We all make mistakes from time to time. I know I do. Nobody appreciates a 'smart ass'.
